There is an underground tunnel located at the inn which lead to the parish church and that is why it was called the Old Church House Inn. It is believed that the Sherlock Homes book the Hound Of The Baskervilles was partly written in the inn by Bertram Fletcher Robinson but it is believed that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stole the book from him and put his name on it and had Robinson poisoned 7 years later.
