Ted Glen is attempting to fix the boat. Pat comes to deliver mail and the Reverend pays a visit. Reverend Timms gets tangled in some rope and the boat gets cast adrift with the engine still not working. They attempt to find a solution such as using sails, and making a paddle out of a flattened tin can but they do not work.Meanwhile, the children are arguing as they prepare to ride Pumpkin.
